All went heavenly with Girls’ Night Sin at Elouera Surf Life Saving Club

IT IS not often charity fund-raisers outperform expectations, but a recent event raised twice as much as expected.

The Girls’ Night Sin event at Elouera Surf Life Saving Club last month was such a success that organiser Fionne McKillop of McKillop Financial Planning plans to make it even bigger and better next year.

Ms McKillop had set a goal of $10,000 for the third annual event, which raises money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and awareness of breast cancer and other illnesses affecting women.

The financial planner, who has a special interest in minimising the financial impact of illnesses through personal insurance, said the night raised $20,345 for the foundation.

“The foundation uses funds raised from community fund-raisers like ours to promote breast cancer awareness, assist in the undertaking of vital research into the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and to assist those who are affected by it,” Ms McKillop said.

“The foundation’s goal is to achieve zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030 and we are thrilled that we were able help make a difference.

“The night was a huge success . . .”

Among the speakers was Curves Cronulla gym owner Kim Stoffels.
